Purpose : To report our experience with managing keratectasia following laser refractive surgery with RGP contact lens
Method : We retrospectively reviewed the chart of one 35 years old patient who underwent RGP contact lens fitting forLASIK induced ectasia (OD only) with at least one year follow up. The Main outcome measures were: preoperation refraction , topographic characteristics , residual stromal bed thickness , time to develop ectasia , final UCVA as well as BSCVA.
Results : UCVA , BSCVA and topographic flattens and regularity improved in patient' right eye . Minimal 12 months clinical data follow up will be shown.
Conclusion : Our preliminary experience indicates that RGP contact lens fitting may be an effective and safe procedure for Keratectasia following laser refractive surgery . Long term outcomes are awaited . |
